Braces use a series of fixed brackets, ligatures (small elastic bands), and metal archwires to adjust the positions of your teeth. The archwire runs through the brackets, and the ligatures hold everything together.
Braces in Los Angeles
If you’re looking for the most efficient and discreet brace options available, you’ve come to the right place. At Smile Health Orthodontics, we offer the very latest treatment options to our patients, and you won’t believe what a long way braces have come!
How do braces work?
When you visit Dr. Solomon for adjustment appointments, she will make small bends in your archwires to place targeted pressure on your teeth. This will slowly move your teeth into proper alignment.
Types of braces we offer
Here are the brace options we provide for patients of all ages:
Metal braces
Metal braces are the original, time-tested orthodontic treatment, but modern metal braces are even more reliable, discreet, and efficient.
The medical-grade stainless steel brackets are exceptionally strong, and you can customize your braces with colorful ligatures to express your mood or show off your school colors!
Ceramic braces
Are you looking for a more discreet option? Ceramic braces provide you with all the advantages of traditional metal braces but with more aesthetic packaging. The clear ceramic material of the brackets helps your treatment blend in with your smile.
For extra discretion, we can even give you clear ligatures.
LightForce 3D braces
LightForce 3D braces are the first fully custom bracket system. We can adjust the size, shape, and placement of each of your brackets, and 3D print them to match your natural tooth color. This makes your braces incredibly efficient, discreet and this treatment may be 30% faster than with traditional braces.
BRIUS® lingual braces
BRIUS® Independent Movers™ are braces that are fixed behind your teeth, completely hiding them from view. At SHO, we use Brava by BRIUS®, which doesn’t require any archwires and gives us control over the movement of each individual tooth.
This makes your treatment more accurate and efficient than ever and up to 50% faster than with traditional braces.
When do you need braces?
Braces can treat a number of orthodontic issues, including:
- Overbites – Bite down naturally. Are your front lower teeth hidden by the upper ones? You might have a deep overbite.
- Underbites – This is the opposite of an overbite. When you bite down, your bottom front teeth sit in front of the upper ones.
- Crossbites – This is an alignment problem where some of your upper teeth sit on the inside of your lower teeth.
- Gap Teeth/Spacing – This is where you have too much space between your teeth. It’s common in the upper front teeth.
- Crowding – When there’s insufficient space in your mouth, your permanent teeth may overlap each other. This makes it harder to maintain good oral hygiene.
