Gingival laser treatment

What is the Spectralase Diode Laser?

The Spectralase Diode Laser is a gingival laser built by renowned laser physicist Dr. George Bekov, PhD. It is one of the most sophisticated soft-tissue lasers in existence, and can be used to swiftly treat a number of gum issues.

What can the gingival laser treat?

Our Spectralase Diode Laser can be used to:

  • Expose impacted teeth to allow proper eruption
  • Reduce gum swelling around orthodontic appliances
  • Reshape gum tissue to improve the look of your smile
  • Release heavy muscular attachments that can cause gum recession or improper tooth movement

How does gingival laser treatment work?

The Spectralase Diode Laser uses an “Ultra Pulse” which delivers 200 millisecond pulses per second. The procedure is usually performed using only a topical anesthetic, so you don’t need to get uncomfortable injections.

After the procedure, there should be minimal discomfort. If needed, you can use ibuprofen to combat any soreness. You may be asked to use a special mouthwash or salt rinse to aid healing for the first few days after your procedure.

Benefits of the gingival laser

We’ve chosen to invest in a Spectralase Diode Laser for our offer because it is:

  • Highly effective: We can achieve outstanding results from just a single in-office treatment.
  • Comfortable: The procedure is relatively painless, so it only requires a mild topical anesthetic.
  • Convenient: Before gingival lasers, patients needed surgical gum treatment that was costly, time-consuming, and difficult to recover from. Treatment and recovery are both very short with our laser treatment.
